I have a couple of quests that say to go to the breech, but when i go there it ends up at a dead end. The arrow points past the big wall and i cant get through. Is there another way into The Breech area, besides the one that leades into a dead end?

It took me a long time to figure that out. You have to go underneath the bridge and through some tar-like water, and that eventually takes you to the other side. That whole area is a maze though; it's annoying.

there is sort of a purplish stream you can wade to different areas

At point 1 I am guessing you have to have a partner to open the gate like you do for Northland in Pre-Searing. If you keep going West you`ll run into point 2 that you don`t need a partner to enter.

no you ignore point 1 completely and continue further on

you simply run through like any portal
you had better bring henchmen ot friends or what is in the breech will hand you your head

when you go in there is a bridge you go over to fight some charr

go back a bit and as you enter the area where you fought the devourers turn left than left again where you will see a fire burning
(or look to your right after coming back through the arch you went through to reach the bridge)

fight your way down the stairs to the river that bridge goes over than go in the direction of the quest arrow

there is stuff the other way also
